Angela Borda

Manuscript Consultant

Angela is on hiatus for 2024, but will be at SBWC part of the week..

An editor of 20+ years, Angela Borda is the founder of Borda Books as well as the Santa Barbara Literary Journal.

She delights in all forms of fiction, but especially stories with strange sensibilities, quirky characters, and wild imaginations. Established in 2018, Borda Books has published story collections such as The Fifth Fedora, Delirium Corridor, and Hurricanes & Swan Songs, among other. Borda Books is launching the Bold Voices in Fiction series, which will present four single-author collections and novels in 2023.

Angela is actively seeking novels and story collections for 2024’s offerings. The Santa Barbara Literary Journal publishes twice a year, and for that, Angela is looking for stories under 5,000 words. Genre is welcome, as magical realism, fantasy, and science fiction are favorites. Angela is excited to read what you’ve been working on, and happy to consider novels, story collections, and short stories
